David received his Bachelor of Science in 1977, at the University of Belfast and his Chartered Accountancy designation in Ireland in 1981. He came to Canada shortly thereafter with Collins Barrow, received his Alberta Chartered Accountancy designation in 1985 and became a partner with Simpson, Myers and Hamilton the same year.
David has devoted much of his professional time to the construction industry. He has been a director of the Calgary Construction Association since 1995 and is currently the Secretary Treasurer. He continues to write articles for their local publication.
